Edge Work Hockey
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Edge Work Hockey collects, uses and protects information when you use our services.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Information We Collect
Edge Work Hockey collects the information needed to run a hockey team in the app:
- Account information such as first name, last name and email address, and authentication data handled by our authentication provider.
- Team and club information such as team names, team membership and coach roles.
- Player profiles created by coaches, including name, position, shooting side and other team-related details, as well as internal coaching information such as skill levels, notes, depth chart rankings and player allocation.
- Practice and attendance information, including practice plans, drills, tags, lineups, groups and attendance records.
- Surveys and survey responses, and player development information shared by coaches.
- Messages sent between authorized users inside the app.
- Videos and related content uploaded by coaches, stored as files together with their titles, tags and recipients.
- Invitation and access information such as invitation codes, invitation links and their status.
- Device information required for app functionality, such as a push notification token when notifications are enabled on a device.
We do not use advertising networks, and the app does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
2. How We Use Information
Information is used to:
- Provide and operate Edge Work Hockey.
- Manage teams, players and coaches, including invitations and permissions.
- Plan and manage practices, lineups, groups and attendance.
- Provide player development functionality such as surveys, notes and video feedback.
- Enable communication between authorized users.
- Send relevant notifications about activity in the app.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the service.
- Provide support when you contact us.
- Protect the security and integrity of the service.
3. Team and Player Information
Edge Work Hockey is built for hockey teams, coaches and players, so it necessarily processes team-related information such as rosters, attendance, practices and development notes.
Access to team and player information is permission-based and intended only for users authorized for the relevant team. Coaches see the information their role and team permissions allow, and certain areas — such as player allocation — require separate access that is granted explicitly. Internal coaching information such as skill ratings, coach notes and depth chart rankings is not shown to players. Players see only information intended for them and content shared with their team.
4. Messages and User Content
Content created in the app — messages, practice plans, drills, surveys, notes, videos and other uploads — is stored as part of providing the service and is made available to the users authorized to see it.
You should not upload or share content you do not have the right to share, and you should take care when sharing information about other people, especially minors.
5. Data Storage and Service Providers
Edge Work Hockey uses Supabase for infrastructure, including authentication, the application database and file storage for uploaded content such as videos. Information you enter into the app is stored there on our behalf.
Apple's Push Notification service is used to deliver push notifications to iOS devices. Apple also processes information related to app distribution when you install the app from the App Store.
We use a limited number of providers and only those necessary to operate the service.
6. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app stores a device push notification token so notifications can be delivered to that device. Notification content is intentionally kept brief — for example, a message notification indicates that a new message has arrived rather than displaying the full message text.
You can manage notification permissions at any time in your device settings, and notification tokens are removed when you sign out on that device.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
Information is processed by the service providers described above to the extent necessary to operate Edge Work Hockey. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety and integrity of the service and its users.
8. Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, to meet legitimate operational requirements, or to comply with applicable legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or the request is handled as described in the account deletion section below.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including authenticated access, permission-based access rules enforced at the database level, and encrypted connections. No service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
Edge Work Hockey may be used by youth hockey teams, which means information about minors may be processed in the app.
Where minors are involved, account creation and the processing of their information should be carried out with the involvement or authorization of a parent, guardian, club or other responsible adult, as required by applicable law. Coaches and clubs using Edge Work Hockey are responsible for having the appropriate permission before entering information about a player.
11. User Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access to the information we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion of information.
- Restriction of, or objection to, certain processing.
- Data portability, where applicable.
To exercise applicable rights, contact us at support@edgeworkhockey.com. We may need to verify your identity or coordinate with your team or club before acting on a request.
12. Account and Data Deletion
Registered users can delete their account directly inside Edge Work Hockey, under Profile → Danger zone → Delete Account. The deletion is permanent and requires two confirmations.
Deleting your account removes your login and authentication record, your account profile (name and email), your device push tokens, your notification settings and queued notifications, your team memberships and coach roles, your player-allocation access, your platform role and any access-code redemptions, and the link between your login and any player profile.
Shared team information is not deleted. Roster entries, practices, drills, attendance, lineups, depth charts, season plans, surveys and responses, videos and uploaded files, and messages you have sent remain with the team so that other authorized members keep their records. Your name is no longer shown on those records once your account profile is removed; in conversations you appear as a deleted user.
If you are the only administrator of a team that still has other coaches or connected players, deletion is blocked until another administrator is assigned, so that a team is never destroyed or left without an owner. If a team has no other coaches and no connected player accounts, that team and its content are deleted together with your account.
You can also email support@edgeworkhockey.com from the email address connected to your account for privacy or data questions, or to request deletion manually.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Edge Work Hockey evolves. When we make material updates, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
